The Sergeants Cottage Rosscarbery

Wild Atlantic Way, Holiday Accomodation
Wild Atlantic Way, Holiday Accomodation
Situated in the heart of this beautiful village and nestled behind the Old Garda Barracks, Sergeants’ Cottage is a one-bedroom dwelling for two people, (or four using the sofa bed) accessed by a lane at the back of the market square.

Sergeants’ Cottage was in a derelict, neglected state, unused for many years when Gail Butler and her family decided to bring it back to life. Today it is a sensitively restored open-plan perfect holiday rental. Through a black, wrought-iron gate in the lane into the courtyard, an old-fashioned half-door leads to the main living area of the cottage. The double bedroom is accessed by a safe wooden staircase that overlooks the living area below.

The accommodation highlights include a wood-burning stove and lovely, soft lighting in the recessed stone wall. Towels, linens, cleaning items, soap, shampoo, detergents, etc. ensure visitors have what they need. On arrival, Gail provides a generous welcome basket of fresh foods and a ready-to-go picnic basket for days out on the beach.

As the location of the cottage is directly behind the Old Garda Barracks, it has occasionally been rented by guests who rent both properties to accommodate large groups. This has proved particularly helpful when people are attending weddings in the area.
